Charity Quilt

It took me just short of forever to pick up fabric for my charity quilt. Amazingly though, I finished this quilt in less than 2 days (that is a record for me!)
This is also due to me doing the simplest pattern I could think of, but hey, I think it turned out just right. I love a cute farm scene.

You can see all the quilts we donated over here.

I Made a Bag!

It's not that exciting. And I haven't blogged in a LONG time. But since DCMQG is having a linky party, I might as well.

I used the noodlehead 241 Tote pattern. This is my everyday purse.

I made 2 changes. I added an interior zipper pocket. I was my first time doing this kind of pocket and I pretty much used her instructions for the outer pocket, just put it at a slant on the interior piece. And I added a little tab with a clip to put my keys on.
Then I made the handle out of webbing and made it adjustable.
I used Mochi dots and Mustang Linen blend by Cotton and Steel for the main fabric. I love it!

2013 Goals/WIP's

This year I want to finish the few things I still need to finish:

Rainbow Irish Chain: Top is done, just need to do a back and quilt it.

Eat Play Sleep quilt: back and quilt

Lindsey's bed quilt: I realize I can't handle doing a ton of this at a time so my goal is to do 2 blocks a week and finish it by her birthday in September, or earlier if that is how it works out. I only have 1 block sewn together, but almost half of the triangles needed.

Mod Mosaic- La Beeda Loca quilt: I need to sew 4 more blocks and then sew the top together.

Echo Pillows: I just need to get a neutral solid I like and sew up the pillow tops I took apart because they were too busy.

Projects I want to complete this year not started:

Custom Order- Use my DS quilt fabric for a quilt for my sister's MIL.
Little Apples-Use the jelly roll I got forever ago and sew it together. Not sure who it is for yet.
Hexa-go-go quilt with my FMF. I should just cut hexies now so I can work on them in down time.
Madrona Road quilt challenge-I still have no idea what I want to do.
Orange and blue/aqua quilt-using HR fabrics, still not sure exactly what I want to do, but this will just be a fun lap quilt.
4x5 Quilt: I need to do a couple more rounds so I am left with just blocks I like for the top :)
FFAII quilt- simple sashing, big blocks. This may be my new bed quilt if I can get the husband to agree
Commision- make a memory quilt for a friend who has collected things from her kids.
Voile Dress out of Joel Dewberry poppies.
Make Curtains for baby girl's room.

Quilts I want to make with fabric I already have:
Starpunch with my art gallery
Bed quilt with chicopee

Evelyn's Baby Quilt

My sweet friend who takes all my family photos was having a baby girl so she came over and we picked out some colors to match her nursery. We were going for a very soft look.
I have wanted to do the single girl patter for a while, but when my friend Amber had a paper pieced version, I new it would be perfect! Since its small, it came together pretty quick and I love how it turned out.
But I think I love the back just as much.
I used mostly HR mendocino prints, princess and the pean, LH pearl bracelets and some things from the stash. The background is cream and Kona Ash, as well as the back and the binding is a plaid from Momo, Its a Hoot. I hope she loves it, it should be at her house by the time she is home from the hospital!

EZ Dresden Challenge

I actually came through with a deadline. Barely.
Our SLMQG was hosting a dresden challenge and so I decided to participate. (in the mini category, come on, its me)
I love circles but they are hard so I decied to go for it. I really like how it turned out and am so glad I was up for the challenge. If anything, I learned more than I wanted to know about piecing curved pieces. Now it can hang on my wall and I can admire it!

A little closer.

I like orange. And pink. And yellow. Especially together.
Wahoo! its done!

January Bee Blocks

January was filled mostly with bee blocks.
Here are the 6 I made,

 And the 6 I recieved.
I am still figuring out what I want to make this round, but so far I love how mine are coming together, I had a fabulous group!
Then a couple squares for Amber in my local bee and that is about it! Now to keep sewing!!!

Tree Skirt

After I finished the stockings, I of course had have a matching quilted tree skirt.
I used the tutorial from crazymomquilts and I love how it turned out.
This is the only picture I had of it complete though before I packed it up after Christmas, but who minds a cute baby?

I had a lot of good scraps so I just started laying them out.
 Then making squares,
 Then piecing the blocks,
Then sewing it all together,
And the hardest part was cutting a hole in the middle of my quilt!
This was actually my first log cabin style quilt, so I can check that off my list!
